RTP and House Edge Explained
RTP, or Return to Player, is the expected long-term return rate of a game. For example, if a slot has an RTP of 96%, theoretically a player would get back an average of ৳960 for every ৳1,000 wagered. However, this figure is an average across millions of rounds — results can vary from session to session.
Typical RTP ranges by game type are as follows: slot games range from 92% to 98%, blackjack is around 99%, and roulette ranges from 94% to 97%. Table games are generally more favorable for players compared to slots.
House edge is the inverse of RTP. If a game's RTP is 96%, the house edge is 4% — meaning the casino retains an average of ৳40 from every ৳1,000 over the long term. This is the foundation of the casino's business model and a completely normal arrangement.
Knowing the RTP and house edge before you play allows you to choose games more wisely and plan your budget. Choosing games with a higher RTP increases the chance of longer-lasting entertainment, though a win is never guaranteed.
Typical RTP Ranges
- Slot Games92% – 98%
- Blackjack~99%
- Roulette94% – 97%
- Baccarat98% – 99%
These are general industry figures — the RTP of specific games may vary.
Bankroll Management Guide
Financial planning is the most important aspect of responsible gambling. Bankroll management is not just about reducing the risk of losses — it is about making the gaming experience more enjoyable and sustainable. For anyone who plays regularly, a clear budget plan is essential.
Start by setting a monthly gaming budget — an amount whose loss would have no impact on your daily life. Divide this budget into smaller sessions. If your monthly budget is ৳3,000, allocate ৳500–৳600 per session. Do not spend your entire budget in a single session.
- The 1–5% per bet rule: Keep each individual bet between 1% and a maximum of 5% of your total session bankroll.
- Take a break after a win: Stop when you reach your target. The idea that a winning streak will continue is a dangerous one.
- Respect your loss limit: If you lose 50% of your session bankroll, stop playing for that day. Trying to recover losses risks even greater damage.
- Keep a record of your play: Write down the deposit, withdrawal, and outcome of each session in a simple notebook or spreadsheet.
- Control your emotions: Never place large bets when you are tired, emotionally distressed, or under the influence of alcohol.
Remember, gambling is a form of entertainment — not a source of income. Playing with a proper plan can make it an enjoyable experience.
Quick Tips
- ✅ Set a monthly budget
- ✅ Divide into sessions
- ✅ Follow the 1–5% per bet rule
- ✅ Stop when you reach your win target
- ✅ Take a break if you lose 50%
- ✅ Track your history
Betting Terms — Glossary
A simple explanation of essential betting and casino terms for new players.
RTP (Return to Player)
The percentage of total bets a game returns to players over the long term. The higher the RTP, the more favorable it is for the player.
House Edge
A measure of what percentage of each bet the casino retains on average over the long term. It is the inverse of RTP — house edge = 100% − RTP.
Wager / Stake
The amount of money you place on a specific round or bet. Wager and stake are two words used interchangeably.
Wagering Requirement
The total number of times you must bet the bonus amount before you can withdraw it. Example: 10x means you need to wager ৳10,000 on a ৳1,000 bonus.
Odds
A numerical expression of the probability of a specific outcome in betting. Higher odds mean lower probability but a greater reward.
Live Bet
Also known as an in-play or in-running bet — a bet placed while a match or game is in progress, where the odds change continuously.
Cash Out
The ability to partially or fully secure a profit from an active bet before the match ends.
Parlay / Accumulator
Combining multiple bets into one larger bet. If all selections are correct the reward is much higher, but so is the risk.
Bankroll
The total amount of money you have set aside for gambling. Proper bankroll management ensures longer-lasting entertainment.
Volatility
The level of frequency and size of wins in a slot game. High volatility means fewer but larger wins; low volatility means frequent smaller wins.
Free Spins
The opportunity to spin the reels in a slot game at no cost — typically activated through a bonus offer or scatter symbols.
Spread
In sports betting, the point difference between two teams set by the bookmaker to balance the betting.
